The Port Hope
Predators may be without one of their skilled players
come playoff time.
Andrew Taylor, acquired in December from the Brampton
Capitals, left the team earlier this month after
requesting a trade. According to Port Hope General
Manager Tim Clayden, Taylor's request was very specific
and could not be met before the trade deadline.
"Andrew Taylor demanded a trade to and only to the
Georgetown Raiders," explained Clayden. "We agreed to
accommodate Andrew's wishes providing Georgetown would
provide us with a player of equal value. (The Raiders)
did not, and only offered money. Cash cannot skate or
score so we elected to protect Andrew at the deadline."
Though he wasn't traded, Taylor has not since
returned to the club. The forward notched three goals
and seven assists for 10 points in 12 games with the
club.
"We are hopeful that Andrew returns to our program.
We don't blame him or other players when things like
this happen. It's not always their fault."
