Kevin Parker named new Predators Captain

Three year veteran Kevin Parker will be the captain of the Port Hope Predators OPJHL Junior A Hockey for the upcoming 2007-2008 hockey season.

"There is no player better deserving of wearing the "C" than Kevin Parker," said Director of Hockey Tim Clayden. "This will be Kevin's fourth season with the Port Hope Predators. Our hockey club next season will be designed around the work ethic and leadership of our captain."

This past season the six-foot, 200-pound forward played in all 46 regular-season games and eight playoff games, scoring 17 goals and contributing 19 assists.

"What Kevin lacks in skill and natural goal-scoring abilities, he certainly makes up for any and all shortages with his tenacious hard work ethic at every practice and every shift," said Clayden.

"Should our team lack a little skill next season, we believe that, through Kevin's leadership and example on and off the ice, we should certainly be the hardest-working club within our division."

Kevin resides in Milton. His hockey idol is Steve Yzerman. You can find him usually devouring his favourite food of ham and potatoes while listening to Nickleback.
In the off-season he enjoys fishing and wakeboarding.

"Kevin is an outstanding citizen off the ice and an excellent ambassador throughout the community that has represented himself and the Predators in only a first-class manner," concluded Clayden.

"Knowing that this up coming season is Kevin's last in junior hockey, it gives our management team extra incentive to work just as hard off-ice as Kevin has the past three seasons on the ice, to ensure that we surround our captain with hardest working players that we can find.

"We hope to ensure Kevin Parker's last season as a Predator is his most memorable one. We are proud to have Kevin Parker represent the Port Hope Predators as our team captain," Clayden concluded.
